Message from the President

Unfortunately, due to lack of use by the Old Edwardians (it really was minimal) and the fact that the School didn’t use it at all, it has been decided to close the court and convert the building for use as part of the Music Department. Apparently, the pupils are having to practice and rehearse their music at the moment in all sorts of odd “cupboards” and spaces which is not in their best interests. Although those who have played fives in the past will mourn its passing, there is no doubt that the conversion is making the best use of the building.

A very enjoyable second visit to our Old Edwardians in London took place at the Pitcher and Piano in Cornhill on Friday last (30th Jan). The atmosphere was that of a very successful London pub (hearing aids useless!) where some 50 OEs and Senior School Staff lead by Headmaster Bennet had an extremely good time renewing friendships with former fellow classmates or making new friends with younger and older alumni. This is definitely the way to go and we look forward to next year’s event and possible a similar meet in another part of the country where there is a good number of us on the ground.
